| Day 1 |
|

The tour starts in Yangon
after arriving with a morning flight. We will check in a hotel and
get things settled and organized. After lunch we will go birding in
the parks, downtown Yangon where some common birds like Common Myna,
Little Cormorants, Black Drongo, Common Tailor Bird, Green Bee-eater,
and Bulbuls will be introduced. We will also drive along the Hlaing
River to get a look at the Brown-headed Gull. Those who have not been
to Myanmar before will visit the famous Shwedagon Pagoda later in
the evening.

| Day 2 |
|
| Early in the morning we will
drive to Hlawga Wild life Park which is on the out -skirts of Yangon
to look out for Pale-capped Pigeon, Racket - tailed Treepie, Stripe-throated
Bulbul with white eye which is only found in south Myanmar, Sunbirds,
Orioles, Flower-peckers, Bee-eaters and some Babblers, etc. After
lunch we will drive to Moeyungyi Sanctuary, a vast area of wetland
situated about 110 km north of Yangon. We will spend the evening birding
along the shores of the wetland, looking out for birds like Bluethroat,
Thick-billed Warbler, Wagtails, Pipits, Golden Plovers, Harriers and
Kites. The over night and dinner will be at the resort in the sanctuary. |

Day 3 |
|
With an early boat ride in
the sanctuary we will be looking for Greater Spotted Eagle, Pied Harrier,
Woolly-necked Stork, Asian Openbill, Sarus Crane, Spot-billed Pelican,
Painted Stork among thousands of waders and shorebirds. This sanctuary
is a 40 square mile area and inhabits about 100 species of birds.
We will spend the whole morning birding in the sanctuary and after
lunch drive back to Yangon.

Day 4 |
|
We will fly to
Bagan with a morning flight. After checking in a hotel and having
lunch those who are tired can have an afternoon siesta. In the evening
we will have a short boat ride along the Irrawaddy River to look out
for Sand Larks, Indian Skimmer, Laggar Falcon, Black-bellied Tern,
Pied Kingfisher, White-tailed Stonechat and Pratnicoles along with
some water birds.

| Day 5 |
|
| The next day, birding in Bagan
will add the endemic Burmese Bushlark and White - throated Babbler,
White-bellied Minivet, Spotted Owlet, Rain Quail, Barred Button Quail,
Vinous-breasted Starling and another 20-30 species to our list. Those
interested in archeology will spend some time, visiting famous temples
and pagodas built during the Bagan era about 700-1100 years ago. |

| Day 6 |
Early morning
we will drive about 45 minutes to Chauk with a 4WD vehicle where
we will cross the Irrawaddy River to begin our journey to the Chin
Hills. In the lowland forests along the way we will look out for
the endemic Hooded Treepie, Alexandrine, Grey-headed, Red-breasted
and Blossom-headed Parakeets, White-rumped Falcon, White-eyed Buzzard,
Woodpeckers, Babblers, Laughingthrushes, Minivets, Orioles, Chinese
Francolin , Red Junglefowl, Green Pigeons and many more. Our destination
is to a basic and comfortable Pine Wood Villa in Kanpetlet. Kanpetlet
is a town in Chin State, the nearest to central Myanmar. It is situated
at 1400 meters south-east of Mt. Victoria which is also called Khaw-nu-thone
in Chin and Nat-ma-taung in Myanmar, meaning Mother of Spirits,
in both languages. We will spend all Mt. Victoria nights at the
Resort where the temperature is cool and pleasant. |

| Day 7-12 |
| We will be birding
in the Nat-ma-taung (Mt. Victoria) National Park which comprises 280
sq. miles and is home to the endemic White-browed Nuthatch and Black-bibbed
Tit. Various types of habitats on the mountain such as mixed oak and
rhododendrons, Montane bamboo patches, broad leaf evergreen forest,
Pine forest, thick secondary growth with tall grass and scrub, semicultivated
fields and grass lands are rich in birds and a number of specialties
like Brown-capped Laughingthrush, Black-headed Shrike Babbler, Grey
Sibia, Blue-winged Laughingthrush, Chestsnut-crowned Laughingthrush,
Striped Laughingthrush, Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler, Spot-breasted
Scimitar Babbler, Brown Bush-Warbler, Russet Bush Warbler, Broad-billed
Warbler, Spot-breasted Parrotbill Black-throated Parrotbill can be
found. During our days in Mt. Victoria (Nat-ma-taung) National Park
we will be exploring different elevations with different habitats
everyday. Birds like Mountain Bamboo Patridge, Thrushes, Robins and
Kalij Pheasants are usually seen on the road when we drive up the
mountain every morning. 5 species of Nuthatches are found at 5 different
elevations, the White-browed at the highest and the Velvet-fronted
at the lowest. Great birds like Blyth’s Tragopan and Hume’s
Pheasant are also a possibility. Rare and colorful birds like Fire
tailed Sunbird, Gould’s Sunbird, Cutia, Chestnut-tailed Minla,
Blue-Winged Minla, Scarlet Finch, Minivets, Robins, and Flycatchers
will keep you excited all the time. In fact it was said that, for
those who have never been to this area before, there is a new bird
in every meter you walk. You can relax the evening with locally brewed
Khaungyay and those interested in tradition and culture can take a
visit to near by villages which is home to tattoo faced Chin tribes.
If you think the thrill is not enough you can climb up to the summit
which is 3110 meters high and is about half a day’s walk from
the highest mortorable place. |

| Day 13 |
| We will drive back
to Bagan and those who have missed the lowland specialties will have
a chance to find it again. Overnight will be at a hotel in Bagan. |
